What the facility does
Our mission is simple: close the loop on organic waste and return nutrients to the land that needs them most.
The Central West Nutrient Return Centre is a fully certified AS4454 compost production site specialising in:
Organics Receival
We accept food organics, green organics, and mixed FOGO material from councils, commercial operators, and collection contractors. Every load is checked at intake.
Certified Processing
Organic material is processed under controlled, EPA-aligned conditions. Temperature monitored, contamination managed, outcomes documented. Every batch traceable.
AS4454 Compost Production
Our compost is produced to the AS4454 Australian Standard. Safe, stable, and suitable for agriculture, land rehabilitation, and civil projects across NSW and beyond.
Why nutrient return matters
Returning organic matter to the soil is essential for:
Improving soil structure
Increasing water holding capacity
Boosting microbial activity
Supporting regenerative agriculture
Reducing landfill waste
Keeping organic material out of landfill, permanently
This facility plays a key role in regional circular‑economy systems, turning waste into a valuable agricultural resource.
AS4454‑Certified Compost Production
Our compost is produced under strict quality controls certified to the AS4454 Australian Standard for Composts, Soil Conditioners & Mulches. It's not a target. It's the floor we operate from.
Certification Ensures:
Safe, stable, mature compost
Controlled pathogen and contaminant levels
Reliable nutrient content
Suitability for agricultural and environmental use
This gives farmers, councils, and contractors confidence in every load delivered.

FOGO Processing & Circular Economy Outcomes
The Nutrient Return Centre is a registered FOGO processing facility under NSW EPA guidelines, operating within the framework of the Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment (FOGO Recycling) Act 2025.
The facility plays a major role in regional FOGO (Food Organics & Garden Organics) programs. We support Councils and businesses with:
Local roots. Regional reach. A facility built for what's next.
The Central West Nutrient Return Centre is more than a processing facility. It is the physical proof that resource recovery infrastructure can and should exist in regional NSW, not just in the cities.
Located in Forbes, we are part of the Central West's economic and environmental future. Every tonne we process creates local employment, reduces transport distances, and keeps organic resources circulating within NSW.
We are investing in expanding our capacity. The infrastructure being built here will serve councils, operators, and agricultural producers across a growing service footprint, and position the Central West as a genuine hub for certified organics recovery in regional Australia.
