CIRCULAR ECONOMY NSW
Topsoil Organics is a resource recovery operation. Every food scrap, every garden clipping, every tonne of organic material that comes through our gate has a destination, and that destination is never landfill.

What resource recovery actually means
Resource recovery is the process of collecting organic material, food organics, garden organics, agricultural residues, and putting it back to work instead of burying it.
It sounds simple. In practice, it takes certified infrastructure, EPA-aligned processing, contamination management, and a genuine commitment to the outcome, not just the tonnage diverted.
That's what we do in Forbes, NSW. And it's what we're scaling.
The four step loop
Collect
1
From source to facility
Organic material received from councils, commercial operators, and collection contractors across NSW.
Transform
2
Turning organics into something new
EPA-aligned processing at our Forbes facility. Every batch monitored. Nothing lost.
Certify
3
The standard that matters
Finished product tested and certified to AS4454 Australian Standard. Quality assured.
Return
4
Closing the loop
Recovered organics distributed to NSW farms, landscaping operations, and land rehabilitation projects.
Why NSW needs this now
NSW organic material is the largest recoverable fraction in the waste stream, and most of it still goes to landfill. Every tonne buried generates methane. Every tonne recovered builds soil, reduces synthetic input reliance, and supports the farmers and land managers who feed the country.
The 2026 FOGO mandate is a legal floor, not a ceiling. Topsoil Organics is already operating above it, and helping councils and operators do the same.
Supporting outcomes:
NSW landfill diversion targets met with documented evidence
Methane reduction. Organic matter recovered, not buried
Soil health improved across NSW agricultural land
Reduced synthetic fertiliser input for farmers
Circular economy commitments backed by certified processing
